Press Release - 50 Days to Crowne Plaza Opening - 11.07.08
With only 50 days to go until its grand opening, the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre is now taking guest bookings via its website. Over 500 people have been involved in the 40-month build and Liverpool-based operator Centre Island has invested more than £32m in the ten floor hotel, which sees the Crowne Plaza brand return to central Manchester after a four-year absence. Bob Fairweather, general manager of the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre, said: “The hotel is really beginning to take shape and with building work on schedule for our September 1st opening, we are now looking forward to hosting corporate and leisure travellers visiting the city. “We have already had a lot of positive feedback about the contemporary look and feel of the hotel’s exterior - and we can’t wait to impress visitors with the equally striking interior, as well our high quality service.” Located in the vibrant Northern Quarter of the city, the Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre is particularly well located for the MEN Arena, SportCity, the Printworks, Urbis and the numerous professional services companies based on and around Deansgate. The hotel will also contain a destination restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced food. Businesses, meanwhile, will also be able to make use of nine conference rooms, the largest of which will accommodate up to 200 delegates in theatre-style seating or 200 for banqueting.
