Press Release - Conference Capacity Boost for Manchester
Manchester is to benefit from extra conferencing capacity when the new Crowne Plaza opens in the city’s Northern Quarter in September.
The hotel, which sees the Crowne Plaza brand return to central Manchester after a four year absence, will feature nine conference rooms. One of them will accommodate up to 300 delegates in theatre-style seating and 200 for banqueting.
“We are bringing extra capacity and additional choice to the increasing number of organisations that are looking to host meetings and events in Manchester,” said Bob Fairweather, general manager, Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre.
“With even the major political parties planning to host their annual conferences in Manchester, the city has become firmly established as a fantastic location for business gatherings.
“Our facilities and high quality service will appeal to meeting and conference event organisers.”
Other facilities for use by businesses include the private dining room and Crowne Plaza boardroom, while organisations using the meeting and conference rooms will also benefit from free wireless Internet access, air conditioning and natural daylight.
Aimed at the increasing number of corporate and leisure travellers visiting Manchester, the ten-floor hotel on Shudehill fits in with the modern design of nearby buildings such as Urbis.
From the outside, it has an attractive angular design to the front and windows that are made from multi-coloured glass that appears to change colour as the light alters throughout the day.
The hotel boasts 228 contemporary and spacious bedrooms. Those looking for a little extra luxury and exclusive lounge access will head to the top floor where they will find 24 Club rooms and a Plaza Suite that come with Club Lounge access.
The Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre is operated by Liverpool-based hotel developer Centre Island and can be found on the Web at www.cpmanchester.com.
Ends.
