Overview of the role
The Crowne Plaza Manchester City Centre is a vibrant, modern hotel that has been open in the city since September 2008. The hotel features 228 chic bedrooms including club rooms and suites offering access to the club lounge, meeting and event facilities for up to 200 people and Glasshouse Restaurant & Bar. We are currently seeking a proactive, highly motivated individual to join our busy sales team to actively seek out new business. This role is a targeted sales position with the requirement to complete sales appointments (both internal and external) whilst supporting the sales team in researching opportunities within the target markets. You will drive and develop new and existing business within the local corporate, conference and leisure markets assisting towards achieving the targets and goals set out by the hotels sales strategy. The ability to research and identify leads is essential and you will be involved in all sales projects
The Hotel Sales Managers duties will include:
• Carry out a minimum of 10 face to face appointments per week
• Have a full understanding of the hotels sales budget for the year in order to drive business forward
• Regularly monitor each business sector and plan in advance for any need sectors and periods
• Research and identify new business opportunities
• Work closely with the General Manager and Director of Sales and take specific sales actions to convert difficult business
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Competencies Required
Outstanding customer service commitment; a huge sense of ownership; great teamworking and a real passion for hospitality are essential to work with us.
Additionally for this role you will need
We are looking for someone with a great personality to share their passion for the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be organised, an excellent communicator, with exceptional attention to detail and proven hotel sales experience.
You will be able to pro-actively capture sales opportunities through your own efforts and initiative. You will be confident, experienced and self motivated.
This role would be ideal for the person looking to move for their first Sales Manager position.
